Goodbye

8 years of blogging here. I've posted random things but I had happy memories. I made comics about my struggles as a students, journaled on my 1st trip to Cape Town, documented the zolibloguettes events & numerous other blog posts. This place was my online journal.

A new adventure

However, as a grown ass woman, the 30 year old self convinced me to revamp & take a gutsy move. In addition, I got some experiences & have the opportunity to start fresh. As a consequence, I will no longer post here. My new blog will be up soon & hope you will follow my new blogging adventure. The old one will remain open for my own pleasure.

I won't be long because because a new adventure awaits!

Good luck along your creative way,

Laurie

I learned how to make Farata via Whatsapp video call

In the past couple of weeks, I've been experimenting quite a bit in the kitchen. From Scones, bread or Bao bun which was a... complete disaster!

Let's talk... Confinement

Hello guys, hope you're fine & day 3 of confinement is going well, safe at home. The moment we heard about a case of Covid-19 in Mauritius, I decided to work from home. So today is actually day 4 for me. I can say that we are living in a weird, stressful & scary situation right now.

Before Confinement

The 1st day was a nightmare. The moment we woke up, I looked at my phone & bang! Breaking news! I knew it! (I didn't watch the TV the night before, I knew something was wrong. Why our Prime Minister would make a press conference at 22hr? I Just wanted to have a good sleep).

Poussin was at home with me koz we can't take the risk of being sick, my due date is coming soon! I was panicking. The media didn't help at all duh! I stay glued to my phone. Reading & watching all news. Whatsapp groups were overloaded. Friends, families & colleagues sending all kinds of news.  Some were fake tho.

Day 1

Having to work kept me busy from scrolling through social media & not to read whatsapp messages every 2 minutes (except urgent matters). I stay informed by watching MBC & official sites.

Early morning reflections

Woke up very early a morning (4 AM) only to realised that there were only 14 weeks left until labour! LABOR! I have so much things to do. Baby bedroom, save money, buy baby stuff, declutter, making home safe for baby, laundry (laundry? Don't ask)... Also, thinking I would be hell of a pain! A human being would come out of my vajayjay!

Then in my anxiety attack, little one gave me a kick. I became aware of my hormones. I took a deep breath, took out my bullet journal. I wrote down all my to do list for:
  • Things to do/buy
  • My hospital bag
Ouffff stupid hormones! It was high time to get this list out of my head.

Happy New Year & Highlights

It's been a hot minute since my last blog post. I'm so excited to be back at it again! Happy New Year... 10 days later. I should be banned for saying that :S

Every year, it's pretty much the same; dinner at home with friends & families. However, for the 1st time, we spent the New Year's eve at Domaine Anna. We thought Cyclone Calvinia would spoil the party. Thanks god the weather has improved significantly!

But today's blog is about highlights of these last 10 years. Here we go!

Plan with me: Bullet journal setup for August 2019

Ahoy there! Here is my Bullet Journal spread for August 2019. I have been busy lately that my previous Bullet Journal spread was pretty minimalist. I kept it simple. However, I still highly recommend to practice "bujo" (bullet journal) to keep track of what you are achieving or want to achieve.

This month, I've been a little bit fancy & took more time drawing & adding details. I even have goodies for you. Read till the end!

Chicken Udon noodle soup

I was feeling a bit down yesterday... Until I made myself chicken Udon noodle soup. It is 1 of the easiest & luscious dinner you can make on cold nights. The Kimchi adds a dash of hotness in your mouth. Ouch! So yummy!

Productive Weekend

Me & Poussin are normally super busy on Saturdays. Do some house chores, grocery shopping, ...thus adult things! However, last Saturday I decided to change our routine. Weekend should not be stressful. It should be a moment of pure joy and no work time. We should make space for activities to keep a balance.

February Bullet Journal spread

When I first started my Bullet Journal, I tried to put full of fancy stuff on each and every page...using Washi Tapes, coloured pens, scrapbooking and adding aquarelle. But what I didn't realise is that I was wasting a lot of time! >.>

Bullet Journaling

Happy New year! Wooooo! Time for New Years Goals and Resolutions... after all that bad eating, getting drunk at 10 a.m and thinking that life is a confusion. But now let's get real and smash 2019!

Creating goals for 2019 personally is not just "lose weight" or "be financially responsible". In fact, January is a good month for resetting and taking good habits. There are certain things I want to embrace this year, but instead of trying to reach large resolutions, small daily habits will be more effective to tackle my goals.

V&A Waterfront

After another massive breakfast at our hotel, we decided to start exploring the city right away. Cape town is super easy to navigate. We went first to V&A Waterfront which was around 15mins away from our hotel.

The Waterfront is lined with live shows, restaurants, coffee shops, bars, craft markets and food markets with the breath-taking view of Table Mountain in the background.

Trips to Cape Town

First Time Traveller

As a first time traveller, I had the most incredible trip to Cape Town. But I'm getting ahead of myself. First I was so petrified before getting into the plane. Just imagine...I have motion sickness just being in the car for 1 hour.

When the plane took off, my hand was sweating and my heart was beating so hard. I told Poussin to distract me during the flight or else I would throw up!

Monthly Goals

September is here! (ok, nearly October)... But I still can't believe only 3 months left for Christmas. I've got few things that I want to embrace this month.

Start fresh
If you follow me on instagram, you probably saw that I was painting early a Saturday morning. The truth is that I woke up early without hitting the snooze button. And I didn't feel groggy at all.

I started my September on a good note! youhouu!
