Trips to Cape Town

First Time Traveller

As a first time traveller, I had the most incredible trip to Cape Town. But I'm getting ahead of myself. First I was so petrified before getting into the plane. Just imagine...I have motion sickness just being in the car for 1 hour.

When the plane took off, my hand was sweating and my heart was beating so hard. I told Poussin to distract me during the flight or else I would throw up!

It was a bit strange to be in a foreign country. It was mixed feelings; thrilled and scared at the same time.

In brief, it was about 22h30 when we arrived at the Lagoon Beach Hotel. It was a cold night. We kicked our shoes off and crashed on the bed. We could hear the sound of the Atlantic ocean from our hotel room.

Breakfast please!

As a Mauritian, we tend to get our money worth in Hotels (you know what I'm talking about huh), so we took a tremendous breakfast; beacon, red beans, scrambled eggs, sausages, different types of cheese, bread, pastries, salami, croissant and finally I took a cup of coffee and guava juice while Poussin opted for an orange juice.

"Morisien pa cave amene partou sa!"

On a normal day, I would simply go for coffee and toasts or cereals.

We took the GPS, rent a car and get Sim cards. We briefly visited V&A Waterfront. Coincidentally, there was an event on that day; jam sessions, lively craft markets and super crowded night museum.

We had some coffee and brownie with marshmallows at Vida e Cafe. Cheat day everyday till the end of our holiday! haha!

For food lovers, you can find all types of food, from western to local to Asian food at insanely affordable prices! And for alcohol enthusiast... mhmmm! no regrets (doing the sassy black lady face).

Then for dinner we brought Sushi at our hotel room that we purchased at The Thai Hut Co. in the V&A Food Market.

We ended the day very tired but already our head full of souvenirs for this 1st outing in South Africa.

Until next time, good luck along your creative way!
